About the Journal
AIMS AND SCOPE
Founded in 1993, "Hop and Medicinal Plants" began as the journal of "The Hop and Medicinal Plants Research Center" at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca. Initially publishing articles in Romanian with English abstracts, the journal transitioned to publishing entirely in English starting in 2008 to enhance international visibility. The editorial board has consistently ensured the scientific rigor and value of the articles.
"Hop and Medicinal Plants" is a peer-reviewed, biannual, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality scientific articles. The journal focuses on a wide array of topics related to hop and medicinal plants, including their ecology, physiology, natural product chemistry, pharmacological activity, farming technology, plant protection (diseases, pests, weeds), genetics, plant breeding, biotechnology, and various applications. Submissions must present new scientific insights, original technologies, or innovative discoveries with broad applicability and relevance.
We are also pleased to inform you that the publication of articles in "Hop and Medicinal Plants" is free of charge. This ensures accessibility and encourages contributions from researchers worldwide, supporting the dissemination of significant scientific knowledge in the field.
PEER REVIEW PROCESS
The peer review process for "Hop and Medicinal Plants" is designed to ensure the publication of high-quality scientific articles that provide significant and original contributions to the field of hop and medicinal plants. Manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a rigorous blind peer review process, which includes the following steps:
Manuscripts are to be submitted to Hop and Medicinal Plants through online submission http://journals.usamvcluj.ro/index.php/hamei/about/ submissions #onlineSubmissions.
Initial Submission and Screening. Upon submission, manuscripts are initially screened by the editorial board for suitability, relevance, and adherence to the journal's guidelines. All manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using advanced software to ensure originality and integrity of the research. Manuscripts that meet the preliminary criteria are forwarded to subject matter experts for thorough evaluation.
Blind Peer Review. The journal employs a blind review process, in which the reviewers remain anonymous to the authors to ensure impartiality. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field. Reviewers assess the manuscript for originality, scientific rigor, clarity, methodology, and contribution to the field.
Reviewers' Feedback. Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommendations, including suggestions for improvement, if necessary. The editorial board considers the reviewers' comments and makes a decision regarding the manuscript's acceptance, revision, or rejection.
Revision and Final Decision. If revisions are required, the authors are given an opportunity to address the reviewers' comments and resubmit the revised manuscript. The revised manuscript may undergo further review if necessary. The editorial board makes the final decision based on the reviewers' feedback and the quality of the revisions.
Publication. Once accepted, the manuscript is prepared for publication, including copy-editing, formatting, and proofreading. The final version of the article is published online and included in the next available issue of the journal.
